Poa and degree days

Many superintendents use growing degree day (GDD) models to time poa seedhead management programs with products such as Proxy (ethephon) plus Primo (trinexepac-ethyl) or Embark (mefluidide). Ideally, your first application should be made just before poa seedheads appear. But identifying an invisible plant part just isn't that easy! To cope with this problem, we recommend the following:
