A warning on fall applications of Quicksilver for moss control

The product Quicksilver (carfentrazone) has been a godsend for turf managers who are struggling with moss infestations on bentgrass putting greens. Despite the fact that Quicksilver is an herbicide, guidelines developed through university trials appear to safeguard turf quality while insuring moss control. However, we are aware of several instances where label guidelines were followed, but where turf damage (severe yellowing) resulted.
