Armyworms attack Southeastern US

If you haven't heard already, armyworms have decimated several locations throughout the south and transition zone. There have been some reports of effective control as a bonus from applications of Acelepryn (chlorantraniliprole) used for white grub control in June. Dr. Rick Brandenburg of North Carolina State University provided some comments in his Turf, Bugs, and Rock'n Roll Facebook Group. Here's what he had to say on September 1st 2021:
