Avoiding bumpy greens

Bumpy and puffy poa greens frequently develop a few weeks after aeration. This problem occurs because the turf growing over the aeration holes is growing much faster than the surrounding turf. Even though this is not exactly a desirable effect, it makes sense, doesn't it?
