Bacterial wilt alert

The first reports of bacterial wilt for this summer came this week from Dr. Nathaniel Mitkowski of the University of Rhode Island, who describes more than a dozen cases of this difficult disease occurring on bentgrass (including L93, SR 1119, A4 and velvet). The hot and humid weather that the Northeastern U.S. has been experiencing are no doubt the instigators for the disease.
