Bensulide and QuickSilver produce turf damage

We became aware this week of yet another situation where Bensumec (bensulide) and QuickSilver (carfentrazone) produced significant damage on cool-season putting greens. In this case, several greens were treated with in October with Bensumec (6.5 oz/1000 sq ft); 8 days later, the same greens were treated with QuickSilver (0.15 oz/1000 sq ft). Two weeks after the QuickSilver application, the treated greens, which were a blend of colonial bent (65%), velvet bent (20%), fescue (10%) and creeping bent (5%) looked awful.…
