Deep, infrequent irrigation

In a paper presented at the 2007 Crop Science Society of America (CSSA) meetings by researchers at the University of Maryland, deep and infrequent (ET stacked for 4 days) irrigation was compared to light and frequent irrigation (ET replaced daily). Graudate student researcher Jin-min Fu used a research tool known as a minirhizotron, which was installed under Providence creeping bentgrass, to measure root length, size and density throughout the growing season.
