Divot recovery in bermudagrass cultivars

Thanks to its extensive root system and hardy constitution, bermudagrass has very good recuperative properties, with impressive ability to recover from drought, cold or injury. However, there are differences among different cultivars, as recent research by Oklahoma State's Laskhmy Gopinath and colleagues shows.

The team evaluated thirty-nine cultivars of bermudagrass for divot recovery rate. Commercially available cultivars included ‘Numex-Sahara’, ‘Celebration’, ‘Rivera’, ‘Yukon’, ‘Princess-77’ and ‘North shore’ and were considered standards.
