Dollar spot and leaf surface pH

Research conducted by Zoltan Banyai with Dr. Paul Koch at the University of Wisconsin has demonstrated that repeated applications of alkaline substances that increase the leaf surface pH are effective at suppressing dollar spot. The study was conducted in the summers of 2023 and 2024 on a sward of Penncross creeping bentgrass mixed with Poa annua maintained at fairway mowing height.
