Dollar spot management challenges

Researchers at the University of Massachusetts have been researching the mechanisms and genetics of dollar spot resistance to fungicides over the past few years. In a new publication, Popko, et. al. detail the genetic mutations that allow Sclerotinia homeocarpa to tolerate fungicides in the SDHI class including boscalid (Emerald, BASF), fluopyram (Luna, Bayer Crop Science), fluxapyroxad (Xzemplar and Lexicon Intrinsic, BASF), isofetamid (Kabuto, ISK Biosciences Corp.) and penthiopyrad (Velista, Syngenta).
