Dr. Haruo Tashiro, 1917 - 2009

Though you may not recognize his name immediately, Dr. Haruo Tashiro, who passed away on December 8, 2009 at his home in Golden, Colorado, was known to turf managers worldwide through his exquisite photographs of turf insects, his research on alternative control measures for turf pests, and his book, "Turfgrass Insects of the United States and Canada", which was a staple in most turf manager's libraries.
