Earwigs: Good insects gone bad

Earwigs, those scary looking insects with the forceps-like pincers at the rear of their abdomens, are actually beneficial insects that feed on other insects, and also help to recycle dead plant material. But on putting greens, they can occasionally cause enough trouble, kicking up small mounds of sand, that they are considered to be pests.
