El Nino delivers (finally!)

After months of uncertainty, forecasters at the National Weather Service have now proclaimed a strong El Niño, based on warmer than average sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean. Details of their findings can be found in this January 7, 2010 report.
