Fall prevention of spring dead spot

Spring dead spot is a difficult disease to manage. The reason is that the pathogen (Ophiosphaerella, also known as Leptosphaeria) that is associated with the disease must be controlled before the fall dormancy period for bermudagrass, and before symptoms are obvious. If the disease is not controlled in the summer or early fall, the infected plants become more frost sensitive and are killed during the winter.
