Bluegrass that is genetically engineered to resist glyphosate applications was approved for use a long time ago — 2011. But various regulatory issues have prevented it from reaching the marketplace (see below). It now appears, however, that the USDA and EPA are on their way towards de-regulating glyphosate-resistant grasses. From the environmental community's response, I suspect that there will be some litigation in the future.
