We're having a heat wave that is going to cause widespread problems in the coming weeks. Wherever C3 (cool season) grasses are exposed to temperatures above 95 F (35 C) without adequate wind for cooling or soil moisture to keep up with evapotranspiration, turf can become severely stressed.
