Improved nutrient ratios

The ratio of nitrogen to phosphate to potassium is a key factor in fertilizer formulation and turfgrass fertilizer management. In general, turfgrass tissues contain approximately eight parts nitrogen, one part phosphate and four parts potassium (expressed as 8:1:4). This can be used as rough guideline for optimizing fertilizer ratios.
