Iron and phosphite for control of microdochium patch

Phosphites are known to suppress microdochium patch (aka pink snow mold) under fairly severe disease conditions. However, the bulk of the previous research was conducted where snow cover is not substantial. Unfortunately, recent research conducted by Koch and Hockemeyer at University of Wisconsin reveals that iron and phosphite are not effective in conditions where snow cover is prolonged. In their study, there iron and phoshpite demonstrated no significant control of microdochium patch compared to the non-treated control plots.
