Irrigation filter and nozzle plugging

Interesting and frustrating problems can arise when irrigation systems are pushed to their maximum capacity. For example, we recently had a call from a superintendent who was having sprinkler screen, valve and nozzle plugging following his fall overseeding. We initially suspected that an algal infestation in the lake may have been responsible, but this was not the case — the main system filters were working fine, indicating that algae was not the problem.
