Despite the lateness of the season, there have been a few reports of the "mad tiller disease" (known as Ghost Grass in the UK) recently. The key symptom associated with mad tiller disease of cool season grasses is the elongated growth (etiolation) of shoots that results in a few obviously extra long leaves that appear soon after mowing.
