Managing bryozoans

Since our May 12 Update on bryozoans, the tiny animals that cause "bio-fouling" by plugging up irrigation filters and heads, we have heard from more of you who are dealing with this problem. Superintendents have confirmed that the copper-based product, Cutrine Plus, is effective for killing bryozoans without causing damage to turf.
The Cutrine label itself states that turf can be safely irrigated from lakes that have been treated with this product. However, since copper can be phytotoxic to plants…
