N applied & N removed in clippings

Many turf managers who measure clipping volume on golf course putting greens make an estimate of the N removed in those clippings. This question came in recently from a PACE Turf member:

I have averaged 1.5 lbs N/1000 ft2 (7.5 g/m2) removed on 6 greens this year, but I have applied 3.05 lbs N/1000 ft2 (15 g/m2). If i were to apply the amount I removed do you think I would maintain my turf quality or do I need to…
