New info on nitrogen requirements for bentgrass greens

A recent article by in Golf Course Management takes another look at optimizing nitrogen rates on creeping bentgrass greens. The two year study, run at Clemson University in South Carolina on a L-93 bentgrass green, was conducted by Drs. Wesley Totten, Bert McCarty and Haibo Liu.

The researchers found that annual nitrogen rates of 4 - 6 lbs/1000 sq ft were optimal.
