Notes on spray volumes and nozzles

For foliar diseases such as dollar spot and anthracnose, the general consensus is that lower application volumes (1 gallon/1000 sq ft) perform better than higher application volumes of 2 ga/1000 sq ft or more when using contact fungicides. When these higher volumes of application (higher dilution rate of the contact fungicide) are used against foliar diseases, decreased disease control can result because the fungicide becomes too dilute at higher volumes.
