Photo of the week: bermudagrass mite damage

I never would have suspected this would be a mite issue and three different varieties of bermudagrass on the fairway.

Jim Huntoon shared this photo from South Carolina, where 'Tahoma 31' is the green turf at left, the center strip of severely damaged turf is 'Celebration,' and the turf at right is 'Tifway II.'

The mite damage on the 'Celebration' is noticeably worse than on the adjacent grasses. As far as I know, all pesticide treatments have been the same…
