Frequently mistaken for dollar spot, damage from billbug grubs can be masked when turf is growing actively. But when unfavorable weather or other stressors slow down turf growth, the small, straw colored spots of turf that result from billbugs feeding inside turf stems and stolons can seem to appear overnight.
