Photo of the week: clean-up pass

The clean-up pass might take up more area than you expect.

This photo shows the 5th green at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota. The clean-up pass has been mown by making two laps with a walking mower at the perimeter of the green.

This turns out to be about 20% of the green surface area.

The width of this 2 pass clean-up is about 1 meter (39 inches). The circumference of the green is 252.67 feet (about 77 meters).…
