Photo of the week: Fairy ring in the summer

Fairy ring usually first starts to develop in the springtime, when threat temperatures reach 65F (18C). When the disease is untreated in the spring and then worsens during the summer, it is much harder to control because the hydrophobic dry soils that develop as a result of the disease do not allow fungicide treatments to move below the turf surface.
