Photo of the week: Nematode damage

The needle nematode, Longidorus, is an ectoparasitic nematode that feeds externally (thus, the "ecto") on turf roots. At 2 – 8 mm in length (0.08 &nd 0.32 inches), it is also one of the largest nematodes, and can be seen (though barely) with the naked eye.
