Photo of the week: seedcorn beetle
The seedcorn beetle, Stenolophus, is a sometime pest of corn, but is usually viewed as a beneficial that feeds on eggs and larvae of other insects.Occasionally, though, the small adult beetles invade golf course greens, where they produce small mounds of sand that are annoying, but not truly damaging.
