White leaf causes bleaching of affected foliage, and can result in slow and gradual death of small patches of turf. Although the causal agent is not certain, it is most likely a phytoplasma, a very unique type of bacterium. And our strong suspicion, based on multiple observations, is that a soil dwelling insect known as the root mealybug, that transmits the disease.
