Pounds on the ground: calculating how many "goodies" are being delivered in irrigation water

We were recently asked "How much nitrogen am I getting delivered each year to the golf course from my irrigation water?" This is a good question, and the answer is relatively easy to calculate. The procedure is the same for any nutrient, but we will use nitrogen (N) below as an example.
