Time for preventive control of Pythium root dysfunction

Pythium root dysfunction (PRD), caused by Pythium volutum, is a nasty problem on bentgrass greens, primarily in the southeast. Though the symptoms appear during the summer, the time to control this fungus is in the fall, winter and spring months. It's management is a bit different than for other Pythium diseases, as we show below.
