Quicksilver precautions

We have noted in a previous Update that Quicksilver (carfentrazone) for moss control may cause problems in the fall when applied before or after Trimmit (paclobutrazole) or bensulide.

We recently observed a problem with Quicksilver on bentgrass greens that included some leaf burn, as illustrated in the photo. Temperatures were moderate (in the high 50s and 60s F) at the time of application, and the cool-season turf growth potentials were generally above 50%, signifying good conditions for turf growth. The…
