Rapid blight moving fast

Rapid blight picks up steam as the fall approaches — particularly on poa greens in the southwest. Low rainfall and high soil salts are partly responsible for the increased intensity of the disease.

Though rapid blight can cause trouble any month of the year, it is during the winter months when we see the highest frequency of disease. In fact, it was a November, more than 10 years ago, when we first laid eyes on this new pathogen.
