Red thread and dollar spot

There have been several incidences of red thread and dollar spot being reported recently. Both of these disease are enhanced by low nitrogen status of the plant. Unfortunately, it is frequently impossible to fertilize your way out of a dollar spot or red thread epidemic by applying more nitrogen because the grass will grow too fast to produce a manageable turf surface for optimum golf play.
