Bacterial etiolation is a troublesome symptom on bentgrass greens and diagnosis of the cause can be difficult and slow. The symptoms occur primarily when bentgrass has been infected by the bacterium Acidovorax avenae and is more prononuced when the infected stand is treated with trinexapac-ethyl.
