Silicon has long been promoted as both a disease suppression agent, as well as amendment that can improve turf resistance to wear and to stress. Unfortunately, the data to support these claims has been weak so far, as summarized in this PACE Turf Reference on Silicon and Disease and in the presentation, "Silicon: a new tool for promoting turf health?"
