Soil salts are on the rise, and so is rapid blight

Damage to cool-season greens due to high soil salts (ECs greater than 3.0 dS/m) frequently occurs in the late fall and winter as air temperatures drop, ET goes down and irrigation is reduced. It also occurs during the summer following extended periods of irrigation. In some of these cases, we observe rapid blight as well. High soil salinity and rapid blight are frequently linked.
