Don't tie yourself in knots over this one: the Gordian worm

We have PACE member David Major, CGCS (Shady Canyon Golf Club, Irvine, CA) to thank for giving us just a small case of the heebie jeebies this week when he sent us this lovely specimen in the mail. He and his co-workers found this 1.5 foot long worm slithering on the green early one morning after a rainfall, and wanted to know what it was.
It turns out that this creature is a relatively common but seldom seen primitive worm…
