Too hot or too dry?

Typical warm summer weather mutated into monstrously HOT and dangerous conditions this weekend. Seventeen major cities reported temperatures above 100 F. Chicago reported a high of 103F. The last time Chicago experienced temperatures that high was six years ago. Phoenix has reported 18 deaths due to the heat over the last week. What does that mean for turf?
