Understanding Pythium root dysfunction

Although the fungi that cause Pythium root dysfunction (PRD) and Pythium blight are closely related, the symptoms that they cause and the practices that control them are quite different. Thanks to research by Dr. Lane Tredway (North Carolina State University) and colleagues, we are learning more about how to manage this relatively new disease, which is caused by Pythium volutum (Pythium blight is caused by Pythium aphanidermatum).
