Commercialization plans for Roundup Ready bentgrass have been dealt at least a temporary blow by recent scientific and legal events. Exactly how the introduction and sales of this long-awaited genetically engineered bentgrass will be impacted is unclear. But the legal and scientific wranglings are nonetheless of great interest, partly because of their significance for the turf industry, but even more generally, for the future of genetically engineered crops of all types.
