Video: Cup change grain problem

We occasionally run into an odd problem on poa–bent greens. Replacement turf plugs show up as much lighter in color than the surrounding turf, but this problem is only visible when viewed from certain angles.

This video illustrates how the color of the plug changes dramatically as the viewer circles the replacement plug. It's all a matter of the direction of the sunlight, and how it reflects off of the leaf.
