Damping off is the general name for diseases of seedlings that die shortly after emergence. Damping off is most frequently associated with Pythium spp. fungi, but as we show in this video, Rhizoctonia spp. fungi can also be involved. If Rhizoctonia is present, then treatment decisions will need to be altered.
