Things are seldom what they seem

This recently overseeded fairway looked fine for about 3 weeks, but then rapidly collapsed. The final diagnosis was a good lesson in the importance of always challenging your initial assumptions.

This southern California bermudagrass fairway was overseeded with ryegrass in October, and was irrigated with recycled water.
