Drought update: and how it affects you

As of July 22, about 34 percent of the contiguous U.S. (mostly in the West and Southwest) was suffering from moderate or worse than moderate drought, according to The U.S. Drought Monitor, which is a collaboration among NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) and the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska.
