Searching for billbug hangouts

Billbugs are causing increasing damage on both warm and cool-season turf, as described in this PACE IPM Reference on billbugs and this recent PACE Update, "Billbug threat". One of the many mysteries about this little-studied insect is why they show up in some locations, and not others. Having this information would allow turf managers to predict the location of future infestations, to scout more efficiently, and even to make more accurately targeted spot treatments.
